  • January 2024: Our work on avatar use motivations was accepted at ICA’s 74th Annual Conference.

  • July 2023: I participated in Caltech’s DataSAI summer school for computational methods.
  • June 2023: New skill acquired! I can now run fMRI participants at the Caltech Brain Imaging Center.
  • August 2022: I joined the Fear Lab at CalTech as a postdoctoral researcher studying the neuroscience of social media.
  • June 2022: I successfully defended my thesis and taught Oral Communication (COMM 2010) this summer!

  • November 2021: I received the CALS Alumni Association Award for my dissertation research.
  • June 2021: Participated in the XR Access Research breakout session on mental health and XR. TA’ed for Ethics in New Media, Technology, and Communication (COMM 4300).
  • May 2021: Presented my work on avatar customization and games for emotional well-being at ICA 2021.
  • February 2021: Our systematic review on VR’s application for disaster-related mental healthcare was just accepted at Translational Issues in Psychological Science.
  • January 2021: My work on avatar customization in VR was accepted to ICA’s 71st Annual Conference.
  • October 2020: Qualified my A-exam!
  • August 2020: Cat Lambert, Bharathy Premachandra, Angel Hwang, and I were awarded the Media Studies Working Group grant.
  • March 2020: My book chapter on patient-centered care in VR with Dr. Won was published in Technology and Health!
  • March 2020: I will be presenting my work on “Affective Embodiment” at IEEE VR’s Doctoral Consortium in Atlanta, GA.
  • October 2019: Hosted a panel and workshop on beginning clinical VR research at Cornell’s Immersive Media in Medicine Symposium.
